It gets to keep all the special abilities and effects they have though, letting you have extra copies of them out and about
Legacy and Vintage are great formats, and most players would be perfectly fine with playing against opponents with some number of proxies in their decks if it meant they could play their favorite format on a regular basis
So any megas that either hits crazy out of the gate as a stage 1/basic can be a huge demerit if you don't stop your opponent, or you have two meat shields that will get you to the last guy that will win you the whole game
