2014 Christmas Ornament: Randy's Record Shop Under the ownership of LeeRandy Wood founded Randys Record Shop in 1946 in Gallatin, Tennessee. By the 1950s, Randys was recognized as the worlds largest mail order record company. Mr. Wood also started Dot Records, which became the home of artists like Pat Boone, Lawrence Welk, and Gallatins own, Johnny Maddox. It was Mr. Maddox who cut the very first Dot single. Randys Record Shop remained in existence until 1991. Dot Records closed in 1978. A legend to many, Mr. Randy Woods
